i have a really boring "unknown fibers" tan area rug that i got really cheap...(yes i know it isnt clothing, but i could wear it around for a while if it would get a response from the purist rc persons in the crowd)....anyways, id like to do a jackson pollock number on it and wonder what kind of dye to use...was thinking leather dye...it cant be washed or rinsed once dyed (its 9'x12') and i dont want it to rub off on the dog or offgas for eternity (i know, the rug itself is going to do that) ...any suggestions???...thanks, w

something that big, personally.. I'd paint, rather than dye.. acrylics would do it.. then you'll get the real JP effect.. that's my take on it, anyway..

or textile paint, but it's more expensive.. then you'll need to spend the greater part of the day heat setting it with an iron..
