Re: hey whatcha working on?
Sun, April 27, 2008 - 1:05 PMHello, I is new
1. 50's style dress out of clear shower curtain. Line in neon green (removable), tulle petticoat in yellow-green tie-dye
2. fur lined leggings a la Luis Royo
3. Cyber punk corset militant looking thingy. With the same shower curtain
4. Draped anime goodness to put over afore mentioned thingy
5. Bellydance halter top
And I have an incredible back log that I will get to once those are done.

Re: hey whatcha working on?
Sun, April 27, 2008 - 1:45 PMnice using shower curtains!
I also keep a list when I sew. thankfully my list is over once the coat is done, that is until I start my wearable art stuff.
welcome to the tribe! love the folks here. -

Re: hey whatcha working on?
Sun, April 27, 2008 - 2:58 PMI admit a small percentage of what I make is re-purposed clothes. Except my "casual" wear. Which is what I wear when not at work. Then most of my clothes used to be totally hideous prom dresses that are now fabulous tribal wear! Ha!
And thank you for feedback. A couple of tribes have current project lists, and no one ever hi-fives eachother or notes interesting projects.
Oh, and you have to post pictures of your coat. Such a popular cosplay item, can go so wrong. -

Re: hey whatcha working on?
Sun, April 27, 2008 - 5:28 PMI am new to this tribe as well!
I am currently working on a brown and yellow crocheted bag, a halter-top out of an old t-shirt, and a wrap skirt. -
-
Re: hey whatcha working on?
Sun, April 27, 2008 - 5:45 PMLet all who have too many old t-shirts as other shirt raise their hands now *Hand jumps high*
What kind of wrap skirt?
And that does not exclude miyo from posting pictures. ahem -

Re: hey whatcha working on?
Wed, April 30, 2008 - 12:19 PMyesyesyes - far too many old t-shirts that are ripped and/or warped from overuse that I still can't bear to part with...these are always the perfect items to experiment and play with on my sewing machine!
I am making just a regular wrap skirt (still pretty new to sewing) - but with this stretchy, comfy material that I LOVE! I also am now thinking of making a flamenco skirt next (in other words - more easy, breezy patterns to practice with).
How are your shower curtain items coming along?

Re: hey whatcha working on?
Sun, April 27, 2008 - 6:14 PMI have some T-shirt reconstructing going on, then I'm still laying out the ground work for a necktie/denim jacket project as well as planning some reconstruction for some of my boring work clothes using some of these neckties.
I'm also starting to collect some antique linens, lace and table cloths, mainly battenburg to incorporate into dresses, skits and halter tops. -

Re: hey whatcha working on?
Sun, April 27, 2008 - 8:54 PMworking on mostly "from scratch" stuff right now.. longing to do more reconstructed stuff.. my head is just so so full of ideas!!! -
-
Re: hey whatcha working on?
Mon, April 28, 2008 - 5:29 PM" Draped anime goodness " .............. I love that image.
Right now, I'm perfecting in my head a halter top pattern that I plan to try on some of my collected items to be repurposed. Maybe this week I'll find time to see if the idea really flies or needs major tweaking.
I've made wine gift bags out of shirt sleeves, and a pair of gauntlet sleeves from a sweater that got holes in the pits.
And always tote bags and more tote bags from old skirts, shirts, whatever.
Recent big score: a ton of clothes from a much larger family member who just going to get rid of 'em anyway. -
