silk sway skirt...

i have reclaimed some large silk pieces from old work blouses, negligees and lounge pants, all 100% silk of a variety of beautiful hues, but have no idea how to go about making these glorious chunks into a patchwork skirt i so desire. i am a noob seamstress, and neeed tips! anyone?

    Oooh, that is going to be nice!

    Here is what I would do.... find a pattern you like, either on line or in a store. Then, cut the pieces based on the pattern piece. In other words
    I am thinking like a jig saw puzzle. If you take each section, many pattern pieces that I use have tear drop shapes and have at least 5 panels. If you take each panel once you have cut various pieces then just sew the pieces together so that you have one panel. Then repeat with the other panels.

    At least in my mind's eye it looks like it will work.
