I just bought a cool vintage nylon nightgown at Goodwill today and I'd like to dye it. It's off white and nylon so I know it won't dye very well unless I use something stronger than Rit, but I'm just wondering if anyone has done this and how it turned out. I saw a designer vending at Tribal Caravan in Agoura Hills last April and she had a bunch of reconstructed full and half slips and they looked so cool. I can't remember the name of the designer, but I've been wanting to make something like her stuff since then. I've got my Rit and I'm ready to take the plunge.

Re: anyone dyed a vintage nightgown/slip? how did it turn out?
Tue, May 13, 2008 - 4:56 AMIf it's nylon ,RIT is fine.
Follow the directions on the package.
I've dyed tons of slips. The stitching might not dye, if it's poly thread. -

thanks for the reply!!
