fused pleated kilt
I used clear plastic garbage bags and glitter. Parchment baking paper will sandwich the plastic when fusing.
Place one sheet of paper down. Place plastic down next.
Using one sheet of unfused plastic, I sprinkled glitter - 2 colors and some small magenta stars then put another layer of plastic over it. Place paper on top.
I then fused using the lowest setting on my iron. Use quick swipes of the iron as you fuse.
**remember to open a window and have your room well ventilated. Fusing plastics(melting) emits toxic fumes. Some plastics are worse than others.
Ideally you should fuse outdoors or next to a window.
After I made enough fused material, I pleated it using pins to hold it down. I fused 1" down(waistband), then added a waistband using 2" folded over the skirt and fused. NO sewing necessary!
For closure, you can sew or use adhesive backed velcro
